Heat it Up: Milwaukee's Bloody Mary & Chili Challenge- Oct 15

You be the judge! Help select the “best” Bloody Mary and chili from some of Milwaukee’s finest restaurants and bars. We will ask the people of Milwaukee to be the judge of who has the best chili and bloody mary's in Milwaukee. Restaurants will participate in either category or both.

The categories for best chili will be pretty straight forward, "Best Traditional/Beef Chili" and "Best Veggie Chili". Market goers will vote on their favorite in either or both categories.

For the bloody mary component, restaurants will make one standard size display cocktail with any garnish that they would like to include. All sample cocktails will not include garnish. Cocktails will be judged by guests of The East Town Market in two categories, presentation (based on the display cocktail only) and taste and the scores will be combined for one grand champion.

Participation is open to all Milwaukee restaurants/bars! Participation is FREE for East Town members.

Cost:

$2 per chili sample or $10 for unlimited chili
$4 per bloody mary sample or $15 for unlimited bloody's
$20 for unlimited samples of chili & bloody mary's

Winners of Best Bloody Mary and Best Chili will be selected by the people of Milwaukee. Come down and vote for your favorite!

While you’re at it,pick up fresh produce, flowers, homemade pastries and handicrafts from local vendors.

EASTTOWN FACTS

The East Town Association was officially incorporated in 1983, although it began in the early 1960’s.

The first Bastille Days took place July 17 & 18 in 1982 and we celebrate the 30th anniversary in 2011.

East Town Market celebrates 15 years in 2011 and over 80 vendors participate annually.

Jazz in the Park started in 1991, 21 years later we have over 8,000 weekly attendees.

The Storm the Bastille started in 1985. Today, over 5000 runners and walkers participate.

November through May, check out the East Town Market at Discovery World on the 2nd Saturdays from 10am to 2pm.

The first Bastille Days was located on Jefferson Street directly in front of George Watts & Son, today Bastille Days has four stages and occupies eight city blocks.

Beginning in 2009, we no longer allow guests to carry in their own alcoholic beverages to any of our events, including Jazz in the Park. Support these free events and buy a glass of wine!
