Danceworks Steamroller: Art in Motion

Spend a day outdoors, engaged in the arts. Get a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the printmaking process as local artists work onsite at Danceworks. Meanwhile, participate in dance and visual arts workshops for children and adults; enjoy live music and dance performances, drinks by Trocadero, food by El Tenampa and Tropical Sno shaved ice. Later, support Danceworks community outreach programming by participating in an auction of the day’s work. Admission is $5 per person; children under 3 are free.
Steamroller has something for everyone:
10am-12pm – children’s multi-arts (dance and visual art) workshops for ages 3-5
12-2pm – children’s multi-arts (dance and visual art) workshops for ages 6-10
2-3pm – adult printmaking workshop
1-5pm – live music, dance and art performances, including Danceworks Youth Performance Company; Danceworks on Tap; musicians Once Now Ensemble and Julio Pabon; dancers enrolled in Steamroller dance workshops led by Danceworks Performance Company (DPC) member Christal Wagner; and “Paint Dance,” body-painting led by DPC member Simon Eichinger and artist Shay Armstrong
5-7:30pm – Steamroller silent auction with music by Deletah and The Demix
7:30-8:45pm – Danceworks Art to Art concert at Danceworks Studio Theatre (tickets sold separately)
8:45-9:30pm – Silent auction continues at Art to Art after party, with entertainment by Deletah, The Demix and Colossal Connexion, a group of Milwaukee hip hop dancers
